    Aloha all,

After doing a couple days worth of research for a good portable graphic card, I'm now confused when it comes to processors.

Which is better suited for gaming with a 7950 GTX?
    A Core Duo 2 Extreme E6600 or a T7200?
From intel's website, I see that the E6600 have like 1066Mhz FBS etc... but how come it's not coming with most laptops nowadays if it's better?
    Which is faster??

i know I seem confusing, but i'd really appreicate someone to enlighten me on the difference and qualities of each!

    Cheers!

The E6600 is a desktop processor, not laptop. The T7200 is a 2.0ghz core 2 duo mobile processor.

The E6600 is a desktop CPU. It only comes in laptops that can use a desktop CPU such as the Asus C90.

When it comes straight down to it, the E6600 is better than the T7300, but they are both plenty fast.

to clear that up, E6600 is faster. Go with the E6600 if you dont care about battery life.

it doesn't work that way, your pc cant take an E6600 if it can take a T7300 and vice versa.

But yes, the E6600 is much faster and has FAR better OC capabilities.

to sum it up, the E6600 is a 2.4GHz 775 flat pinless chip, the T7300 is a 2.0GHz 478 pin chip.

I see guys, thanks, that's really what I wanted to know. :)
Just wasn't sure what the difference between E & T processors was...

    The Sager NP9260, although it's a laptop, it seems to be able to accomodate a Intel® Core™ 2 Duo E6700, (4MB L2 Cache, 2.66GHz, 1066MHz FSB).
    I'm guessing that the Area-51® m9750 with a Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7400 2.16GHz (4MB Cache 667MHz FSB) is not as good then ey?
Surprising, since they are at identical prices...

The E6600 and T7400 will perform the same, if coupled to the same graphics card, in games. Gaming is something that is almost always graphics card limited, so a faster processor will not always increase performance. For gaming purposes, either processor will suffice. When involved in just processor intensive applications, the E6600 should be the faster procesor, mainly because of its faster clock speed. However, the T7400 will produce alot less heat, and is still a very fast processor and it shouldn't be that much behind the E6600 in benchmarks.

Not true. The E6600 2.4Ghz will outperform the T7400 2.16Ghz in gaming. This becomes more readily apparent if you go SLI. Which both the notebooks he quoted are capable of. There isn't a HUGE performance difference between these two CPU's in gaming, but your going to see a increase in SLI.

Better video card = huge gains
    Better processor = small gains
(As far as gaming is concerned)

A lot depends on the game as well how much physics the game has to render and how many units it has to keep track of. Check Supreme Commander. It is a very heavy CPU intensive game. In the case of it you would notice a difference in the two CPU's.

E6600 would be a poor choice to put in a notebook. It is designed for a desktop, it produces more heat, and uses alot more power than the T7400. The t7400 is designed for a notebook application I.E. LOW HEAT, LOWER POWER CONSUMPTION. Most any notebook purchased from a major manufacturer such as dell, hp, sony, will not allow you to overclock a processor in either a desktop or notebook; furthermore sager will probably limit the E6600 to certain clock speeds as overclocking it will produce more heat and cause damage to the processor as it is enclosed. Go with ASUS, they're the only company that makes their own laptops.
