I recently bought WD Scorpion 320gb

I ran hdtune test and the result was 48.7mb/s avg..

The thing is I saw the other people's results were around 50~52mb/s

So I ran the test again and I found that my max speed doesnt go up

more then 59.9mb/s.. it seems like some thing is limitting the sata bandwidth

oh.. and i figured my scorpion has WD3200BEVS this name which i think is

supposed to be WD3200BEVT.. any idea?

Are you sure it ends with S? The WD3200BEVT is the official model on WD's website. The WD3200BEVS was mentioned in the press release; however, that might be a typo as no model has that specific code.

The BEVS is the first revision of the 320gb 5400rpm drive. The BEVT is the second revision of the drive.
Do not worry about the speed difference. It is most likely not related to the drive difference between revisions, but the number of background processes you have running. Background processes will eat up cpu cycles, memory and harddrive, so it is beneficial to shut them off by going into the registry or MSCONFIG. Shutting off these background processes will put less of a strain on the drive and thus have higher benchmarks.

oh so this is the same model as BEVT?

If there is no performance difference, I think something is limiting my sata bandwidth i guess..
