    I didn't know there's such a thing as a Dell CA rep. WOw. But yeah, usually you can find the smart card offered in business class laptops. That's because the smart card a security feature, where a company can loan out laptops to the employees, and the laptops can only be accessed with the smart card. Without the smart card, the laptop (minus hack, etc) is useless.

    The Military also uses SmartCards- it's our ID, and our logins to various systems are moving to having a smart card reader...either USB, PCMCIA, Express Card or built into a keyboard or laptop.

    Actually it's kind of irritating, because I leave my ID in my PC at my desk, go off-post for lunch, and I always remember that my ID isn't on my person as I get near the gate....DOH!
