My maximum speed is around 70. Average is around 60 MB/second.
My access time is 16.9 ms, and this is what is really messed up. Burst rate of 36.3 MB/second. How do I fix or optimize my hard drive?
It's only 10% full.

Compare to this hard drive. -
How many processes do you have running? XP or Vista?
Please post a screenshot of the info tab in HD Tune. -
All I know is that the imageshacked drive has a free fall sensor.
Edit: What are your drive's temps? -

Which operating system? If XP you can use HDTach for a second opinion on the interface performance. Is the HDD interface IDE or SATA (which notebook)?

I don't understand if there is same issue in configuration or SATA drive, please tell us that you think on this.

if all else fails you can try installing the ahci driver for your hd -

So on the info box, all the boxes are checked, I think. They're like blocked out. I can't "check mark them" but they're filled with color.
I fixed everything (cause it was on stamina mode) except the burst time. Which is only 2/3 of the 90 MB/s that the other poster is getting. I get only like 64 MB/s. Every other time is comparable. How do I fix my burst? -
If the boxes are greyed out, it sounds to me like the drive is running in IDE compatibility mode for when you don't install the SATA drivers and that the Intel (or other) chipset drivers aren't installed/updated.

When I switch to SATA compatibility in the BIOS from AHCI it increases burst rate by 20 MB/second, but I lose 10 MB/second on min/max write speeds.
What's wrong with my Seagate 7200.3?
