What prvides a bigger benefit? Upgrading a 2.2 core 2 duo processor to a 2.4 or upgrading the ram from 2 gigs to 3 gigs

Depends what work your doing? But id say 2 gigs to 3. But if you included 5400 rpm to 7200 rpm, I would have to say that.

More RAM will benefit more than the .2 GHz increase in the processor, especially for the price of that. In most tasks the current Core 2 Duos have more than enough power to run them. The .2 GHz will not make a large difference in most tasks and it certainly isn't worth the few hundred more that it costs.

Get 3 GB RAM. More RAM is always better (although 4 GB RAM, in my opinion, is excessive right now). Especially if you run Windows Vista with Aero, 3 GB RAM is great.

    2GB ram to 3GB ram.

Fair to say the cpu upgrade would make almost completely no difference, certainly no noticable difference and would be a complete waste of money.

RAM, if I could downgrade CPU to a T7300 and save anymore than $75 I would. I agree with everyone so far but since we don't what apps you run we can't really tell you except in a general common since way.

Yea, your CPU is already too powerful for what you do. Ram is the way to go...

    7200RPM HDD too tho
