The only real improvement performance wise, is the addition of an 800 MHz FSB on the processors. Theres no architecture change, so processors used with Santa Rosa will still be Merom, but on the Napa system, they were limited by the FSB. Power wise, the should be about the same, even though Intel has opted for a dynamically adjustable FSB between 400 and 800 MHz.

There were some other features originally on the specification sheet for Santa Rosa, but I believe that notebooks with Santa Rosa, will not have some of these features.

How'd about the HSDPA chip? And the flash memory implements? Having read of some of thsoe, they sound like something "useful", not necessarily gamingswise though.

WiMax has been pushed back (draft 802.11n is still included) and Turbo Memory should make it more convenient to take advantage of SuperFetch without plugging in a USB drive. But as Zero stated, the biggest performance boost will be the FSB speed increase because mobile Core 2 Duos are clearly crippled by the 667 mhz FSB right now.

Gaming wise, there shouldn't be much of an improvment. Gaming is much more graphics card limited and so, a faster processor won't help the performance. However, since DX10 cards are going to be released with Santa Rosa, they may help performance, but it would depend entirely on the card in question.
