Whats the Biggest HD Available for a Laptop and what rpm would it run at anyone know what it is and where to buy? I'm talking about internal not External ones.

Internal hard drives for a notebook are only 2.5" and the short version therefore the largest is currently a 320gb drive as the 500gb drive many think will work will not due to its abnormal height.

Samsung has a standard 9.5mm height 500GB drive, though I'm not sure if it was just an announcement or if it has shipped yet. I know I haven't been able to find one yet in Canada.

Samsung HM500LI is 500GB 2.5" and 9.5mm high.
It gets very high transfer rates, consumes about 10%-25% more than average and very slow acces times. Check my sig for more info. -
^ Yeah it is at the wrong end of Tomshardware HDD Power Consumption Charts, but if you've got two HDD slots, and not worried by battery life, you can install two of 'em and get 1TB storage space.

Yeah for space it's nice, but performance is quite mediocre:

It would be even worse if it was compared to 7K320.
Whats the Biggest HD AVailable? (1 TeraByte?)
