What can it go up to? Someone told me the X9000, but how about the X9100 or the quad core ones?

X9100 is a different platform, no quad cores will work in your laptop

The only processor that I know works with your system as an upgrade is the T9500 at 2.6Ghz.
The X9000 may work, but it depends on BIOS support.

If the X9000 works, that is the fastest processor available for your system

Its not really worth upgrading since you already have a 2.5Ghz dual core
