It's been quite a long time that we dont get anything new. It seems a lot of companies were holding back for Montevina this time. Some of them only put T8300 T8100 in their product lines.
I think it will be a release conference or sth coming next month and all the laptop companies promoting there new products on that EXPO. Anyone knows when? :wideeyed:

Intel has the Montevina release slated for an early June debut. So I'd expect laptops from the major players to be ready by early to mid June. And yes no changes to existing lines of notebooks will really happen until complete redesigns come out with Montevina (e.g. the new Latitude E series Dell)

Will there be redesigns of the actual laptop when Montevina release?

Yes this is what I stated in my post. Because manufacturers have to design new mainboards around the new chipset, manufacturers will design new laptops for these boards. It is a good opportunity to bring out new designs for these companies. So rather than just a refresh or facelift, the laptops should be significantly different in design (e.g. a more significant change than say a Latitude D600 to D610, or D620 to D630)

The regular Montevina processors for bigger notebooks will be out in June.

The SFF (small form factor) Low and Ultra Low Voltage models for smaller notebooks will be out in the fall, September I think.

I'm guessing the price of what's out there now will drop?

This comes in quite handy as I plan on buying a laptop in 2-3 months. I don't need top of the line, I need something easy on my wallett.
