    Hey all,

Just thought I would ask. Several articles I have read allude to the possibility, so does anyone know anything concrete yet?

merom, not conroe are for the laptop market
    they'll come in August
as for conroe, although they're for desktop, alienware and sager will still release them.
    probabaly on the 17" though.
your best bet for battery life is merom

Just for the record, some articles were pointing to using conroe T6x00 series chips in larger DTR notebooks in a manner similar to how Pentium 4's were seen in laptops like the zx5000, zd8000, several current high end DTR, etc. Their TDP is only 65 W, which is about half of what a P4 powered notebook would need to compensate for...

The Meroms are going to have the same power requirements as the current Yonah, so they will be able to be used in the same notebooks. Merom will raise the performance bar by about 20%.

I'd expect late August/early-mid Sept. as a likely time to start seeing the Merom becoming widespread.

Any updates on putting Conroe in a notebook? Do we have confirmation from any notebook manufactures(Alienware and botique companies I believe have said they might)
