    Hi,

Im looking at upgrading my old Samsung SSD that came with my X301 to a new Intel 320 SSD.

The problem is that I cant find anyone selling the 1.8" version that Im stuck with using with the X301.

Ive googled, tried Amazon and ebay but everyone seems to only sell the 2.5" version of this SSD.

Could someone please help me out with a retailer that preferably ships to Australia ?

    Thanks

I'm looking for it too. Bit of a time constraint. IF it doesn't come out soon, I'm gonna get the crucial 256gb.

Newegg has them in the "Enterprise SSD" section, but if you are looking for something not the US or Canada, that won't help you I guess.

Man Newegg only has the X18-M in 160 GB...might as well get the Crucial 128 GB for half the price...

:( That is so expensive...the Crucial 128GB is only 40 dollars more, but you get Intel reliability. Darn you Intel for still making some of the most expensive per GB SSDs!

Wow, they actually have it at newegg. I couldn't seem to find it there the other day. The intel is more expensive.. but I thought my X18M was great before it got damaged, so I have no complaints really. And the intel still seems to be the best performer on avg random read/writes. I wish I could find a 160GB version now! I'll look harder. Are there any 1.8" ssd's out right now that sit BETWEEN the X18M and 320 performance wise?

    I paid 40 more for the x18m g2 in late 2010.

Intel 320 series X18-M 160 GB only costs you know an arm and a leg. The 80 GB isn't that much better value either, the Crucial 128 GB for like 240 is a better deal.

Yeah I knew the T400s wouldn't take 2.5" drives when I bought it, but I was willing to make that sacrifice. It just sucks that the 1.8" form factor will probably die soon! Yeah, that x18m 160 is still pretty expensive, I'm expecting the 310 160GB to be 40-50 cheaper. That's my guess. But I can't wait, and I don't really need more space, just a undamaged hard drive. The intel has given me great performance and reliability, good low power consumption, and I have no complaints. I went ahead and bought the 310 80gb. I think I'll put the damaged SSD in an ultra bay until it fails. Any external 1.8" enclosers maybe?

Ya I knew with the T410s also that it used 1.8" drives but I didn't realize I'd be searching for so long for a 1.8" SSD...

I don't think there are many 1.8" mSATA enclosures out there..
