I'm planning to upgrade my notebook but none of the screwdrivers I have right now are small enough to open up my HP DV2000t. In the 2000t's service guide, it shows that several sizes of Phillips head screwdrivers are needed. Is there any online or brick and mortar store that sells a complete set/kit?

Absolutely. I picked up a set from Target yesterday to open up my T60. I have no doubt the Lowe's or the like also sell them.

Thanks for the info. Do you remember which set you bought (brand and name) because Target.com gives too many results for screwdrivers.

Regularly, i don't care about the brand. I must need to use a small, flat and cross and long one so that the power is enough to unscrew it. I don't recommend to use a power screwdriver because it will make it tight if the power is too much.

Just look into eyeglass repair kits and small screwdriver kits. It's really not terribly important that you get the exact right thing, as long as you know the difference between a cross head and a philips head
They do matter. But you can use many sizes of the same type of head on the same screw.

ITs important to note that not all notebooks use a slotted or phillips head screws. Some use the "star" type heads as well.
I picked up a set from my local Home Depot the fit the bil perfectly. If I remember correctly it came with about sixteen different bits that could handle just about any screw configuration you could run across. -
The "star" type heads are torx screwdrivers.

I use a set of percision screw drivers. I've never had any trouble getting into a laptop with them.

Toshiba screwdrivers, ftw. I don't know if you can buy them without being a certified technitian, though. Magnetized, interchangeable bits (I can't imagine working on a laptop without that feature -- and for those of you about to scream 'how dare you put a magnet near your computer', its way too weak to do damage, I don't want to hear it), plus the top rotates so you can exert pressure with one hand, and unscrew with the other.

Yes, magnetic tip bits are worth it, but you can use a small magnet to "help" your normal steel bits suck them screws out of the deeper holes.
I like the xcelite drivers, if you can find then, ie. Graingers. I also like some of the stuff mentioned at Home Depot and Lowes in a pinch. -
Good ole Radio Shark used to have about five or six mixed (flat and philips) jewelers screwdrivers in a case.
