So far I've only found two models

    Pioneer DVR-K06
Optiarc AD-7630A (or the AD-7633A, which is the same drive, but with Labelflash)

Does anyone have any experience with the K06? I know it's older, but it's the only one I could find in the states. I'd much prefer the Optiarc, but no site I go to will seem to ship to me

So, does anyone know where I could get one of these, or know of any other similar drives?

    Thanks in advance

Here is a site which has the DVR-K06:

I have a DVR-K06 in my dell laptop, and its a great drive. The slot loading is nice, its pretty quiet and it burns dvd and dual layer disks nicely.

I have had the Pioneer for a while and have never had any problems with the drive.

I bought mine from Meritline, but they do not have it anymore.
You can buy it direct from Pioneer, but its more expensive:

The Panasonic UJ-875 is a nice slot loading drive, but I cant find any reputable retailers.

The Sony drive you selected can be found here:

If you want pics of the DVR-K06, PM me, I can email you high resolution pictures of the drive.
