Do you actually have a laptop capable of upgrading its GPU (one with an MXM connector)?
If not then you cant actually upgrade your GPU.
If you do have an MXM connection you still pretty much cant upgrade your GPU because no one sells the GPU's seperate. Though you might can sweet talk one of the seller companies (Sager/XoticPC/KNB/etc) to sell you one seperately -
note the compatibility table
btw what's your laptop. most do not have a video board that is upgradable. -
I have a Toshiba Satellite A300 PSAG4A-02M00M.
The video card is an ATI Radeon Mobility HD 3650.

Here's a video card that's almost the same, but with slightly different specs.
I've attached some specs that I got off a program.Attached Files:

Helegad, just because your GPU exists in an MXM card doesn't automatically mean that your notebook is MXM-equipped.
Motherboard-embedded versions of every modern mobile GPU still exist and are regularly used.
Since the Toshiba A300 isn't listed in the table on MXM-Upgrade.com, it'd be safe to assume that you don't have an MXM-capable notebook, and thus can't upgrade the graphics. -
Unless it was advertised as MXM, it is probably not upgradeable. Also, just to make things more confusing, even if your card is removable it does not mean it is MXM.
-
What is the deal with MXM anyway? If the graphics card is removable, can't you just replace it with another one, install the drivers, and enjoy?

Post in the Toshiba Forum, or just open up your notebook and locate the Graphics module. AFAIK, Toshiba graphics modules have a proprietary form-factor, or are integrated/soldered onto the motherboard, since Toshiba doesn't really offer CTOs with multiple GPU options.

Well that sucks. I'll go and post in the Toshiba forums then and see if I can get more info. Thanks for your help
-
. You were all right. The graphics cards are soldered onto the motherboard. ! That sucks so bad
I spent 2 grand on a laptop, and now I find that I'll have to buy a completely new one if I want better performance.

Online is the way to go if you want gaming notebooks. You can always ebay the one you have though, get some cash back.
Where can I buy laptop graphics processors?
