When I changed the HDD in my laptop there was a plastic pad stuck to the exposed circuit board on the bottom of the old unit. This plastic pad was exactly the same size as the HDD.

Please can someone tell me what these things are called? i.e. what should I search for if I want to buy a new sticky pad for my new 2.5inch replacement HDD?

Does anyone know any suppliers of these things in the UK?

    Thanks in advance.

When I changed my HDD, I just reused it. Just stick it back. No need to find a replacement.

If you can't stick it back for some reasons, just cut out a paper and stick it with scotch tape or better yet, double sided tape.

If you still want to buy it, the thing is called sheet. So search for hard drive sheet.
