I looked everywhere from ebay to newegg and cannot find where you can just buy these processors. Basically to get these chips, you have to buy the whole laptop.

Does anyone know where you can just buy the chip itself in regards to low voltage intel processors. They seem impossible to find.

I believe you can if you buy in multiple of 1,000. They are not intended for consumer but ultra-thin model vendors and the like.

Thats not very good, the u7700 looks like a very tempting processor.

They should make this chip available to more people who want more battery life.

Even if they do, it may not be of any use for us. Most of these L/U models use different chip packaging, not the typical socket type(more like bonded directly to the mother board).

These are soldered to the motherboard, since the don't have pins but balls (The connector typ is called BGA, Ball grid array). They won't fit in a regular C2D socket and are not upgradable.
