    Where does 3K resolution fit into this?

    What the hell is 2K in that image? 2.5K (2560x1600/1440) is way bigger in surface area than that. We normally refer to 1080p as 2K.

    In that image, 3K is about halfway between 1080p and 4K along both axes.

    1920x1080 = 2.07 (Mega pixel)
    2880x1440 = 4.66
    3880x2160 = 8.38

    It's as simple as that to work out the area ratio.
