I have been looking into a new notebook for a long time and have been a fan of the alienware m17, I love the look, just not the price of alienwares upgrades. While recently looking at items on canadacomputers i saw an OCZ Whitebook Barebone system for a rather good price, I just have to add a CPU, Ram, and HDD. I have found out where to buy these parts just not a place to buy mobile CPUs in canada,
the processors that are compatible with the OCZ are Intel:
    T7500, T7700, T8100, T8300, T9300, T9400, P8600, P9500, X9100, QX9300
(maybe more just not sure(don't know alot about this)

    Thanks!

I guess you'll be better of getting a high-end ES CPU off ebay....depending upon the tasks you run.

I was looking at that as well, though are there any differences between ES, and OEMs?

Just make sure the CPU stepping/revision (M0/C0/E0) is the latest and is the same as the non-ES OEM version of that same CPU, so that you don't have problems with temp readings. You can shortlist a couple of ES CPUs, and post the links here or in the AW forum. Many users have installed high-end/extreme ES CPUs.

What I do is do a google search for pages in Canada. Those usually have links to stores, then you can check them out yourself.

Hardly anywhere good to buy in Canada, you are better off buying from Ebay. I got a few CPU's from ebay shipped from China no problem.

I purchase most of my computer components from NCIX; perhaps they have what you're looking for?

NCIX does carry mobile CPU's, but I second Ebay.
