Hey guys,
I have an ASUS UL80 laptop. (I don't remember the exact model of the top of my head) I have been happy with everything so far except just recently the battery decided to crap out and won't hold a charge anymore. Not even for a few minutes, so I need to replace the battery.
The model number on the battery is a42-ul50, and searching Google and Amazon turned back a lot of results. I found this one which I like the price of:
http://www.amazon.com/Notebook-Battery-Replacement-A42-UL50-4400mAh/dp/B0054P22L6
The problem that I have with that one is that the information for their battery says it has 4400mAh/63Wh, but on the original battery that I had it says 5600mAh/84Wh. How would those two batteries compare in terms of battery life? And where would you guys recommend getting laptop batteries from? Any help/links would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Yeah, don't buy the lower capacity model. It will give you (at most) 63/84 or 75% of the runtime compared to when yours was working/new.
97WH here:
See:
ASUS A42-UL50 - ASUS A42-UL50 Laptop Batteries for your Laptop
More than 53% more battery life than your link.
Disclaimer: I have not purchased from the link I'm providing - just giving a reference to a much better (ie: higher capacity) battery.
Good luck. -
Try eBay, but only buy a genuine Asus battery, not the cheap made ones.

Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
Ya make sure you put OEM or genuine and do not choose "compatible" as that usually implies 3rd party, where you never know what you are buying on Ebay for 3rd party.

Make sure to recycle the old battery, at your curb if your recycling system supports it.
There are websites where you can send your old battery to them and they replace the cells and ship it back to you. -
Thanks for your help guys. It looks like I am going to have to spend a bit more than I thought I would. It sucks, but I really liked the 10+ hours of battery life I got with the original one.

Yeah make sure it's genuine, I got burnt trying to be cheap.. You will pay over $60 for a good one!!
