Hello all!
I have seen now that SSD is being sold in dell laptops, is there anyone who knows of a place where one can buy this in Canada?
Thanks for your insight!
Cheers,
Jonathan

You may want to ask Flamenko, he may know. Or he may stop by this thread

Yes... It depends on the amount he would like to pay for the SSD as well as the capacity.
Right now, the 32Gb SSD can be had publicly through a few retailers on Ebay but there is no warranty. Similarly, Samsung and Sandisk can both be obtained through Dell purchases.
Something big will be happening with Mtron and they have publicly announced theit new SSDs reaching speeds of 120mb/s read and 80-90mb/sec right with .1ms access and a phenomenal 150plus mb/s burst.
I may have a great contact for these but Im sure they will be very high consumer range. The former SSD (32Gb FPGA) goes for 1500 through only one distributor in the US right now.
If things go right, I may be granted the ability to purchase a certain number of these on their release at a discount. I haven't approached this yet and if I am, Im sure the company will only allow this to get the word out that they are the best.
The only 64Gb is the Samsung presently which goes for over 1000 Cdn WHEN purchased with a system.
Similarly, you can get the new Transcend 128Gb for around 3500.
I am pretty sure I will be letting go of one (Sandisk 32Gb) in about a week or so if the poster is interested. As it is coming in a new test system, it will only be used for a few hours for the test only. I have another offer but will not be speaking to that person until I am ready to sell. -
I'm in the market for a Sandisk 32Gb drive (SATA) and wouldn't getting my hands on one. If this one that you are letting go of goes to the other interested guy, would there be a chance of you getting another by the same means?
I'm also in Ontario...(Toronto) -
Mine came with my system. I answered the question on the other page and will check into it for you tomorrow.
