I am buying an intel 6300 wireless adaptor and third antenae and was wondering where to stick it. Is between the other two (mounted at the top of my display) the best place?

Your Wifi cables aren't labeled with 1-2-3 respectively on each antenna? Usually they are also color coded. My Intel 4965 AGN is color coded on the Wifi card as well as the antenna.

Mine came with a 5100 so there are only 2 built in cables. I am wondering where I should place the third antenae within the chassis. Above the keyboard, at the top of the monitor with the other two?

Someone can tell you exactly where to place it. I heard it a long time ago so I cant remember exactly.
There is a specific place it should be to support the full speed of your 6300 card. They need to be a certain distance apart.
On the other hand...
I broke 1 of my antennae, 1 other is in my hinge cover, and the last is threaded through the top of my lcd mount and my moms laptop only has 1 antennae connected to her wifi card. We have never had any problems with wireless. -
Proper placement is around the screen like the other two. They will be going around the screen on one side where there will be no space left for a third, but there will be plenty of space on the other side to crawl around the screen. If you open up the screen portion of the laptop you'll be able to see what I mean.
But really, if you don't have a 450mbps router it isn't going to make any difference. I've tested it out on mine. -
It would be best if you channel it through the lid (preferable some distance to the other 2 antennas).
You can get a short antenna that can just sit in the chassis or compartment, not as effective but as mentioned the 3rd antenna is only good if your router supports 3x3 MIMO.

So if I sit them all around the top edge of my screen roughly the same distance apart. Its a sticky back and there is some room between my panel and lid (I opened it up to put my 1080p panel in so I have seen it).

You have a choice between these two types:
Internal Embedded Antenna - 5Ghz High Sensitivity 3.5dbi - with 15cm flying lead terminated in U.FL/I.PEX connector OxfordTEC.com
Laptop Internal Aerial Antenna U.Fl plug connector -Electrically Isolated -easy installation no need to open the Base or LCD OxfordTEC.com -

Ah well I am getting one included with the card (since most people only have 2)
Where to place my third antenae
