Just had an incident where a Cherry Coke got spilled on the K/B of my GF's PowerPro HGL-30 and from the quick search I did on google I cannot seem to find anywhere that has a K/B for this thing and I need to get one ordered ASAP.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Instead of buying a new keyboard, shut the system off, and get a bottle of rubbing alcohol and a cloth. Put a bit of rubbing alcohol on the cloth and clean the keyboard as best you can. You can use a pair of tweezers or the end of the knife, to force the cloth under the keys to clean down their too

    Good luck,
If you still need to buy a new one, ebay or excelcomputer may be your best options:

i remember spilling some mango juice on my old Packard Bell's keyboard. I took it out and washed with tap water :D then dried it with a hair drier and put back. However, rubbing alcohol is a much better option =) or at least some vodka)

Tried to clean it within an hour of the spillage ( got the system board cleaned first ). Used 70% rubbing alcohol cause it was all I had handy but even after using like 3/4 of a bottle of the alcohol and allowing the K/B to dry for 2 hrs afterwards in front of a heater vent the K/B is all screwy :(

Using a USB K/B atm but it looks like I'ma need a replacement :-/

give it a couple of days, it won't be registering some keystrokes for some time. It'll get back to normal eventually, when all the liquid dries. By the way, don't dry it with hot air, it may damage it

If all else fails it looks like Power Notebooks.com ( where it orig came from ) may have a replacement for $90 + shipping @_@

The best bet for getting a cheap keyboard is to find the model number of your current keyboard. The model and part number of your keyboard will be labeled on the back of your keyboard.
Run a google search of that model number and see if you can find any sites online which have the keyboard for sale.
You should be able to find it for less than $50

From running the P/N's pn the K/B all I got were some chinese sites and one return that leads me to believe the HEL-80 K/B might fit the HGL-30 but dunno if that will work for sure.

Here are the P/N's on the K/B:

    Sunrex P/N: K020602i1 Ui

    Compal P/N: PK13zhl2500

    Ver: Ui

    D/C: 620 Rev: 00

Yes the HEL-80 has the same model number, it should work in your system without any problems

Prob gonna go ahead and just order one for the HEL-80 and keep my fingers crossed till it gets here.

It should work without any problem. Most vendors have very compatible keyboards. Dell used to use the same keyboard on god knows how many systems. The C640 keyboard could be used on I would say a good 20 different systems.
I have a Compal CL-50 and CL-56 and both keyboards are the same, so they should work for you

Dell still has plenty of interchangeable keyboards. If I'm not mistaken, the XPS M1530 and 1330 are interchangeable with each other, and the Vostro line. And I'm sure there are other compatibilities as well.

I know this is an old thread, but I'm in dire need of a new keyboard, and this is literally the only helpful search result I could find.

I seem to have spilt some soup on my HEL80 keyboard, and now I can't really type much. I tried cleaning it, but it doesn't seem like there's much hope. I'm asking here because I have the same exact keyboard as the original poster, so if he or someone else who knows where to buy the keyboard for less than $90 from PowerNotebooks.com(where I bought the laptop), it would be a lot of help.
Just as a reminder, the Compal part number is: PK13ZHL2500, identical to the original poster's. The only real difference is that the "D/C" of mine is 702, but I don't think that reflects a physical difference in the keyboard, but something production related.

Again, if anyone knows where to buy the keyboard at all, it would be tons of help!
    Thanks for your time,
    Metacore
