I'm looking to buy a laptop but want a High Resolution 17" screen with little or no vertical viewing angle problems. I do work in Photoshop so this is important.

Currently I'm looking at buying the Dell Inspiron or Vostro 1700 but I'm concerned that they might have those problems. Does anyone know if this is true and what laptops have what I'm looking for?

You definitely want to use an LCD made by FCI (Flux Capacitor Industries). They are located in Hill Valley, California. You should be able to request the LCD from any salesperson as they are all very familiar with FCI.

^Absolutely false. B2TF screens will beat FCIs any day. However, they're not carried by everyone, but I got a guy named Marty who was able to hook me up with one.

Are there pre-made laptops by companies which use this type of screen? Any links?

Just out of curiosity...whats the real purpose for what you want here? As long as your screen is angled correctly are you not seeing a proper image?

How does photoshop change the fact that you need a screen with the best vertical viewing angles.

In case it begins..im not trying to be abrasive here, just awfully curious.

Because depending on the angle of your screen the color will appear different. Tilt it forward less contrast, tilt it back more contrast. It makes photo editing a *****.

The samsung 17.2" panel on my U709 has very large vertical and horizontal viewing angles. I dont think that the dell laptops will have the same quality screen, usually dell uses hyundai or lg screens.

Based on the reviews here the screen of the HP 8710p/w is very good. You may want to check it out.
