I want to upgrade the 4200rpm drive on my Sony FS550 and was trying to decide between the Seagate Momentus 5400.2 (ST960822A) and the Western Digital Scorpio WD600VE. Both are 5400rpm, 60gb, and priced around $100, but I wanted to see if anyone has had a good or bad experience with either one. I'm also interested in knowing which drive is quieter.

the seagate is a good drive, i used to have one, they are on the expensive side though, for a lower price you can get a samsung 80GB 8MB cache drive, i am on one right now, they are ultra fast (benchmarked one and it came in just hair under the 7200rpm in transfer speed) i do not recommend any toshiba drive, they have proven to be very unreliable
