I'm looking for a new GPU for my MSI GT627. It has an MXM2.1 type III slot.
It doesn't have the HE tab.
I want to take a risk and try either a 70W or 75W GPU because they are cheaper than the rest I can find.
Basically here are the prices:
3600m = $130.1AUD shipped.
3700m = $203.606AUD shipped
The 3600m is 70W and the 3700m is 75W.
The reason I think I don't need the HE tab is because when I had a 9800m GS, I overclocked it past 9800m GTS speeds and the 9800m GTS is 75W.
Both the 3600m and the 3700m are based on the same G92 architecture, but the 3700m has more unified shaders and a higher clock.
Notebookcheck puts the 3700m above the 4850, I think it's pretty much the best you can get for the old 2.1 MXM slot.
But is it really worth $70 more?
EDIT: One more thing, would I be able to max out crysis with either of those cards?

3600 has 64SP while 3700 have 128. Btw, where did you find that cheap 3700?

Notebookcheck: NVIDIA Quadro FX 3600M
Are they wrong?
I sent an offer, and after 1 more offer he offered $150US (+ shipping).
So what do you think, is there a good chance of these cards working? -

Thanks for that, very sad
I guess the 3700m is worth the extra cash. -

I hope I'm not wrong about the HE tab.
Which GPU should I upgrade to (FX 3600m VS FX 3700m)?
