Do you need speed or storage?
And the 1tb drive is a 12.5mm. See if your computer can take 12.5mm drives. -
I want to use it as External Drive Backup Only
I have enclosure 3.0 usb
and some people says that RPM doesnt make any differences is it true? -
Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
Yes USB bottlenecks way before you hit the limit of even SATA I.. -
Go with the 1tb then
-
make sure your enclosure wil fit the 12.5mm drive though
-
very true ...
-
you right all check that .. if not I will have to buy 9mm 750GB then..
-
Except that he has a USB 3.0 enclosure, so the 5400 RPM will probably bottleneck before you hit the limits of the USB. I've heard the Seagate 750 GB 7200 RPM is pretty meh in performance, though, so it probably won't be much better than the 1 TB overall, apart from the size issue.
-
If it's external I'd opt for space. I've been very happy with my Toshiba Canvio.
-
If performance is really an issue, you go with a 3.5" drive which will blow the socks off and be cheaper than any 2.5" drive. If you want a compact 2.5" drive, just get as much storage space as you can. It will be "fast enough" anyway because most of the time the drive's speed will not bottleneck anything.
-
He already has a USB 3.0 enclosure, though, so unless he doesn't want to use it, his form factor choices are limited.
-
Actually Guys i made my form factor unlimited
i just removed it from box and i can connect even my
I've done it even with 2.0 long time ago .. -
Well if you don't intend it to be portable, then just buy a 2TB drive and be done with it.
-
and 2.5'' ? or 3.5'' and what about power if 3.5'' ?
-
Oh, then in that case unfortunately you are limited to 2.5" drives.
-
nope get universal cables that have PATA ends and SATA ends and power, it lets you hook any drive or device up
something like
Cables Unlimited - USB 2.0 to IDE & SATA Adapter Cable w/ Power -
I would go with 7200RPM coz the 5200 slows down your computer performances
Which HDD (2.5'') 750GB 7200RPM or 1000GB 5400RPM
