I'm thinking of possibly picking up a MLC drive, since most of the SLC's are way out of my price range. However, with all of the stuttering issues due to the Jmicron controller, are there any MLC drives out there that don't have this problem? I know the new intel drive is really good, but is there anything else?

Samsung has one too, without JMicron.

By the way, Apple's seem unaffected by the stuttering problems.

The new Intel X-25 M SSD is blowing away all the competition. If I were you I would totally go with Intel.
You can read AnandTech's throughout review of Intel's X-25 M right here

Exactly. The OCZ's never delivered, neither did the patriots. I would suggest giving the X-25 a look. MLC, a bit more expensive then the infamous OCZ's but well worth it~

The supertalent 128 GB SSD that I have in my T400 is pretty good.

Samsung 128GB is the best option if you need capacity.
If you can sacrifice 48GB, Intel is best.

    Prices are about the same.

Intel X-25M Solid State Drive, Laptop Magazine
"The fastest SSD on the market today can buy back a few minutes of your life everyday."

Intel X25-M SSD: Intel Delivers One of the World's Fastest Drives, Anandtech
" The implications of the X25-M are tremendous. I mentioned before that it is the great equalizer between the notebook and desktop, you can finally have a desktop usage experience on your notebook if you've got one of these in there (or a SLC SSD)."
"What Intel did with the X25-M is show the world what is possible with MLC flash. You get better than SLC performance, at lower than SLC prices. Despite that, the absolute only thing that bothers me about Intel's X25-M is the price. Although Intel is totally justified in pricing the X25-M at $595, I was hoping for pricing inline with the JMicron based MLC SSDs. At $300 - $400 this would be a no brainer for any enthusiast, and honestly even at $595 it's worth considering if you have other drives for data storage."
"Intel didn't start the SSD revolution but it sure did kick it into high gear."

Intel X25-M 80GB SATA Solid State Drive, Intel Ups The Ante, Hot Hardware
"In typical fashion, Intel has stepped up big behind SSD technology and once again upped the ante with a breakout product that literally leaves the current competitors folding at the table, at least for this round."
"... you certainly get what you pay for with Intel's new SSD. Though it might be twice the price, in many applications, it offers more than 2X the performance of any other MLC solid state disk that we've tested to date."
    --Hot Hardware "Editor's Choice Award"--

Intel's New SSD Drive Delivers Blazing Fast Performance, PC World
"Finally, a solid-state drive arrives that can capitalize on the theoretical advantages solid-state memory offers as compared with hard disk drives."
"Intel's release certainly livens things up, and makes SSD potentially far more interesting for both consumers and enterprises alike--especially given the potential power savings SSD drives can offer."

    Intel X25 80GB Solid-State Drive Review, Extremetech
"Intel's new SSDs offer blistering performance, no noise and low power. What's not to like? How about price?"
"We're not ones to use hyperbolic language often, but the overall performance we see with the Intel X25-M is astonishing, particularly in RAID 0. Sure, it's pricey, but we can now put to bed the issues that we've seen with other solid-state drives. The Intel drive is the fastest storage you can get for real world apps."
    --Extremetech "Approved Award"--

    Intel's X25-M solid-state drive, Tech Report
"More than a decade of core-logic chipset design also gives Intel the storage controller mojo necessary to craft a wicked-fast SSD architecture. The X25-M delivers on both fronts, with low power consumption that should make notebook users swoon and truly inspiring performance with some workloads."

Intel's X25-M Solid State Drive Reviewed : Intel's First Flash SSD Ready for Vertical Take-Off, Tom's Hardware
    "Conclusion: X25-M Strikes Hard!"
"... the true secret behind the stunning results of the X25-M is the new controller"
"Intel still has to prove that it can deliver this great-looking product sample to the mainstream market in quantities. If it does, it'll be having Samsung's lunch."

Intel X25-M 80GB Solid State Hard Drive Review, PC Perspective
"The Intel X25-M 80GB SSD is screaming fast and blows away all of previous best storage options!"
    --PC Perspective "Gold Award"--
