Just replaced my 2x512GB memory chips with 2x1GB Kingston PC2700 chips in my 1.86 Pentium M HP dv4000 machine.

It is up and running, but what version of memtest do I use to check the new memory>

Thanks in advance for the help!

Memtest86+ ( http://www.memtest.org/) is the latest. If you have a Vista DVD, MS also includes a memory testing tool along with Vista. You can use that to test memory as well.

Download & extract the zip file(use either the Windows default or 7-zip, Winzip). You should have an memtest86.ISO file after the extract. Then using any CD/DVD burning program burn the ISO as an image on to a CD/DVD. Reboot the system with the CD/DVD and follow the prompts.

If you dont have a CD/DVD utility which can burn an image, then download any one of the freeware ISO burning apps...
