The first is 24" and will give me full 1080P or should I get a 22" for 50 bucks cheaper?

What type of things will you be doing on this monitor? Gaming, multitasking, watching movies, etc? Also, is viewing angles an issue for you? Those are TN-panel monitors meaning that the colors will be saturated and the viewing angles might be an issue if you have to view anything from the sides.

I would normally recommend Samsung,
but the KDS screen supports higher resolution and it has a larger screen size.
The reviews on the KDS screen are good, but I have never heard of them before.
It has a 3year warranty so you should be fine.

I am not going to be a ton of gaming, I will be watching plenty of movies though. 50 bucks is jack to me. I will be multitasking a lot when editing. Viewing angles will not be a problem.
-
for 50 dollars more i would go with the 24 inch. Kds is a good company, the y have been around for years. I had an old crt monitor from them. I have a 25.5 inch monitor, and you will learn to appreciate the extra space.
-
yeah how much was the 25.5?

I have the Samsung 2253BW sitting in front of me and I'd definitely reccomend it. Best 22" on the market for sure.
-
idc about it being the best 22 is it better then the other one, and I don't want you to say it is so you can feel better or that you justified your purchase of it by telling me it is then wasting my money.

I actually went on a few forums and researched a good amount to make sure I found the perfect monitor. I wasn't too sure about the Samsung brand at first, but after being disappointed by LG, I decided to give the Samsung 2253BW a chance since it was new and better specced than other 22" monitors I've seen on the market. It was definitely worth it. If not, I would've returned this the day after I bought it. There's more expensive monitors that cost over 2-3 times more that use higher-quality panels (not in the 22" range, though), but this is definitely great and gets better and better each time I use it. I'm not telling you that to justify my purchase, I could've easily gotten a different monitor if I didn't like this one, but there really isn't any better 22" on the market.

Samsung is in no way shape or form the best 22" LCD on the market.. that is a very ignorant statement. It's not even the best consumer grade LCD.. Viewsonic Pro series would be something to consider. This is from the perspective of a photographer.. if you don't care about depth of visible color/accuracy maybe you won't care about the edge that this series gives you. Also has plenty fast response times and a high contrast ratio.

They have a new larger one too but not sure where to get it: http://viewsonic.com/products/lcddisplays/proseries/VP2650wb/ -

I've heard that monitors that use color gamuts over 100% had bad color saturation (like the 106% color gamunt on the Viewsonic VP2250wb...)
-
Viewsonic Pro series is one of (prob the #1) the most popular option for Photographers and others demanding accuracy of work but who can't/don't to pay extreme prices for a professional grade monitor like a LaCie or Eizo Nano. It certainly does not have poor color saturation. I see these models brought up constantly on photography forums I visit and never once a mention of this.. so not sure where you got it from. Have seen the Pro series in person and they are the best I've seen in the price range.

I'm sure it's a great monitor, but it still falls flat of true professional-grade monitors that use S-IPS and S-PVA panels, instead using TN panels which will never be as good as S-IPS and S-PVA monitors that cost 2-3 times more, but are actually really worthwhile if you can afford them. So I'd say to just get a 24" from Samsung or LG for the price for the 22" from Viewsonic, they all use the same kind of panel and have nearly identical specs, anyway. Just my $.02.
-
The quality of the image produced on the Viewsonic Pro devours the LG and Samsung. They do call it a pro series but note when I just said it was a popular alternative for those who don't want to shell it out for professional grade LaCie or Eizo Nano.. Nobody who knows a lot about LCDs would ever think of placing the Viewsonic equal to monitors like those, but I'm not understanding the logic of it's not as good as the $1500+ monitors so just get one that's even poorer..

Well, my only complaints with the 2253BW, or any TN monitor wouldn't be fixed with any other TN monitor, so it's not worth paying 30% more when it's not really that much better, I couldn't say from actually seeing the monitor if it's better or worse, but I haven't found Viewsonic to be that good from my experience with the brand. Truth is, neither of us have seen both monitors so we couldn't really compare them (even if we did one of them could've just been poorly calibrated), but they should be around the same quality

I want a monitor that is cheaper then $375. No higher.
Which Monitor do you prefer?
