Intel Core 2 Duo T5750 2.0Ghz
or
AMD Turion X2 Ultra ZM-82 2.2Ghz
????????????????????????????????
I will mainly be gaming and I want to know which processor will suit me best. I understand the AMD has a high clock but I also heard they run hotter. BTW the AMD notebook has 4 gig RAM while the Intel has 3. They both have the same graphics card

The Intel will be quite a bit faster.

Even with a lower clock speed?
-
The Intel will be faster, they aren't built on the same architecture so you can't just compare the clock speed.
Also, RAM isn't a factor in gaming after you have 1GB. -

Ok, so you guys are sure that the intel will perform better
-
Doesn't matter to be honest, most games arent all that CPU intensive anyway. But if you need battery life, the notebook with Intel CPU would almost certainly be the better pick.
-
Its just a matter of couple of frames. But the intel is faster.
And the intel is more upgradeable. You can upgrade the CPU to a Penryn later on, depending upon the tasks you'll run.
And for 4GB to be fully addressed, you need a 64-bit OS. -
I mainly look at FSB clock speed when comparing the processor as usually the RAM and CPU clockspeed itself will run in a certain ratio to the FSB....greater the FSB the faster

So could i play crysis with the AMD and a Radeon 3650 on medium settings
-
Intel processors are more efficient than AMD ones currently in the multi-core technology, so even with a lower clock speed, they can process just as good as a higher clocked AMD processor(I think in this case, both are comparable in performance
).
But as Johnny said, Games are rarely CPU intensive(you can probably count those which are on your fingers lol) so it doesn't really matter. A 2.0GHz will be just fine for gaming and I doubt you'll need any more unless you run one of those game exceptions or some CPU heavy application.
I'd suggest the Intel one simply because it does produce less heat than the AMD one. If you're gaming, chances are the graphics card will be heating up so you wouldn't want to add more heat in your laptop by a hot CPU. Heating in a laptop may lead to a decrease in performance(if the heat gets too much, it becomes very noticeable and may be problematic).
Edit: With an HD3650(regardless of which processor you take), if it's GDDR3, you should be able to run Crysis at medium settings. -

Does the AMD laptop have a 64 bit OS? If not, 4GB is almost useless, as it only recognizes 3.5GB or so.
-

OK, However is the AMD more future Proof?

You won't get 3.5gb. That's what I thought. You only get 3.1gb.

Edit: I forgot to say 99% of the time. there's always the odd program or two that decides that it does not want to cooperate. -

Both computers are the same price... so should i just get the 4gb one. Even though it wont recognize all 4gb
-
I would go with the intel. They just have better processors right now

Thanks guys.

Gosh im still iffy on this decision. The AMD notebook has a better screen, and a bigger screen.
-
Then go for the AMD. In gaming, CPU doesn't really affect anything except the frames per second. You'll get about a ~5fps boost with the T5750. So, go for the laptop which has a better config/features apart from the CPU.

For multi-tasking, you need more RAM, if the apps you'll be running eat up alot of memory. Also, a fast HDD will improve loading times, and will make your OS+apps more responsive. Both are cheap upgrades....
If you're having trouble choosing a good notebook, post in the WNSIB forum.
