Hey, i'm looking at buying a new laptop. The basic one has the t4300 and i can choose to upgrade to the t6600 for an extra £90odd.
I'm just wondering, what's the main differences in performance, battery life of the computer and if the extra money would be worth it for simple things like Word Processing, Watching Films, Listening to music, MSN, Internet, etc.
Thanks![]()

Oh, by the way, i will have to wait for another 2 or 3 months in order to get the money to do this as im still at school and do not have a lot of it at the moment and would the t6600 be worth that wait?

For your purposes, the T4300 will be good enough.
Although the T4300 is called a Pentium processor and the T6600 is called a Core 2 Duo, they are pretty much identical except that the T6600 has 2MB instead of 1MB of L2 cache and is a little bit faster. But, as I said, in your uses, you probably wouldn't notice any difference.
If you need the laptop now, buy it, don't wait. -
Okay, thanks a lot, i'm still a little confused though. After having a computer which is now 5 years old, it gradually slows down as most PC's do as i'm told. Would having the T6600 keep the performance up for longer than the T4300 and also, is there really any difference between battery life?

The upgrade it's definetely not worth £90!
Stick with T4300, you won't notice any difference in performance or battery life. -
thanks a lot, will get the t4300 i think
Which Processor - t4300 or t6600?
