    I just bought an Acer 3613LLi with an Intel Celeron 370 chip, which has 256mb of DDR2-400 installed; I am going to buy 1g of RAM, and I noticed that other laptops with the 370 chip are running DDR2-533;

    Can I use the faster RAM? Does it make any difference?

    I figured they put in the slower RAM because of cost;

    It wouldn't make a difference if you had faster RAM - don't worry about that. DDR2-400 is plenty fast, especially considering you have a Celeron chip.

    I recommend going to www.Newegg.com - they have a great notebook memory section. Kingston, Crucial, Corsair are all reliable, well known brands. ZipZoomFly.com is also a good store.
