My Seagate 500G kicked the bucket. I was lucky to find a thumbdrive recovery disk for it I had made many moons ago.

My question, Looking around I was thinking of getting a Samsung SSD 860 EVO 500GB 2.5inch SATA III.

I assume this will work and hopefully no issues since I have the recover thumb drive. Any advice?

The 860 Evo is a fine option.
