In a clevo which on should I choose? The Crucial has twice the amount but it is also a half more priced but with a slower speed. Is it still fast enough? I never had a SSD before.

    120 GB SSD SAMSUNG 840 EVO Sata-600 READ: 540 MB/s - WRITE: 410 MB/s
    240 GB SSD CRUCIAL M500 Sata-600 READ: 500Mb/s - WRITE: 250Mb/s

Both are fast enough for everyday usage, if you need space go for Crucial but if 120GB is enough for you go for Samsung.

120gb is a bit small i would look getting at least 240gb, keep looking you might find an 240gb with a better write speed, i bought a used one of ebay and i am over the moon with it, keep away from the cheap brands though.

Random read performance and IOPS are more important than write speed and read speed once you have your stuff installed imho. The read speed on my older 120gb Mushkin Chronos Deluxe was higher than my current 128gb 840 Pro but the IOPS and random read are higher on my 840 Pro which is likely where my performance boosts come from.

I have the 128gb Samsung 840 Pro in my laptop and love it. Seems to fare a bit better with multiple application launches than even my Mushkin Chronos Deluxe did. Friend has the 120gb Crucial M500 in her laptop along with a 500gb WD Black storage drive so not everything runs off of that SSD which helps keep the load on the SSD down quite a bit but I can tell a definite difference in boot speed and game load times with my 840 Pro over the same games launching on her M500.

The Evo's are supposed to be close to the Pro's in terms of performance and the random read/write on the Evo should be well above the M500. Thats probably where most of the speed boost comes from between my 840 Pro and her M500 tbh. Given either one is going to be splitting hairs unless you're as anal about every last ounce of oomph you can get.

Also, what laptop do you have and does it support dual drives? If so, go with the 120gb Evo, even if you only have a USB external for storage. If you don't have a secondary drive for storage then the 240gb would be the way to go.

In all fairness my 8510P is running an X9000 @ 2.8ghz with 2x 2gb 4-4-412 DDR2-667 with the 128gb 840 Pro whereas her 6860FX is running a T9500 @ 2.6ghz with 2x 2gb 5-5-5-15 memory using the 120gb M500 as the OS drive and 500gb WD Black as storage and for lesser used apps. The faster CPU and slightly tighter memory timings on my laptop are likely contributing to my faster boot/application launch times so my opinion might be tainted on the matter.
