With the same graphics card, the difference between the two will be almost nothing in games, ranging from less than a handful of FPS in most games to a dozen in CPU-intensive ones. Like othonda said, though, the IGP on the 2410m destroys that of the 480m.

That samsung will destroy the HP, both in the CPU and GPU department. RAM is cheap and can be replaced easily.

Anytime I've seen a client buy an older (tech-wise) system, they've always regretted it in terms of battery life, raw processing power or heat output.

Buy the latest platform you're considering and consider the $100 extra as a bargain (it would cost much more to replace the HP with a better unit after you had bought it).

Note the nVidia gpu sports a twice as wide bus (128bit vs. 64bit), 16 more pipelines (not sure how this would translate to games, but more is always better) and if you're lucky, you may be getting the version with GDDR5 instead of the GDDR3 memory.

And as for the 2GB RAM difference, buy a 4GB module and sell the 2GB module for a net cost to you of about $10. ;)

    Good luck.
