I own a Compaq Presario V2565 (AMD Turion ML-32) with 512 MB 333 DDR PC 2700 RAM. I would like to upgrade to 2 GB of RAM, and would like to confirm a few specifics to make sure I buy the right memory upgrade.

    1) I'm pretty sure this is 200-pin DDR SO-DIMM memory, but anyone who could confirm this it would be much appreciated.

    2) I've read a lot of posts saying it is perfectly fine to buy 400 DDR PC 3200, but would like to be sure before I purchase 2 sticks of 1 GB each. My main concern would be how it would interface with the 200M ATI graphics card, since the video memory shares with the system memory. Also, any brand name suggestions would be nice (I'm looking at Corsair on Newegg.com).

    3) Lastly, would like anyone's opinion on if 2 GB of RAM is too much and if I should upgrade my video card. (I am not a "gamer", at least on my laptop ;) )

    Thanks for the input.

1.Yep, thats the memory specification you'll need. Check the memory manufacturers website. They should list the compatible memory.

    2. There wont be any conflicts. The graphics card will take whatever memory you feed it. The 200m will most probably compatible with any DDR, DDR2 or maybe even DDR3(not available yet) memory. Also if you search around the forums you can see that DDR400 increased the performance of the graphics card albeit only slightly. Corsair memory should be fine. Do check out Kingston and crucial. They are also reliable manufacturers.

    3. The amount of memory really depends on what you are planning to do. If you are not gaming anything over 1GB might be overkill, but if you can afford it then go for 2GB. Finally the 200m is integrated and upgrading the graphics card would be impossible.
