Hey everyone, i read many threads about hard drives and the comparison, I am wondering which of these 2 320gb hd is better, one is 5400rpm and the others 7200rpm, the prices are shown as below, i would like the opinions and advice whether the extra money is worth it, i just received some grant money =p.

So the extra money is worth spending on the same size but different rpm hard drives?

    That's a 3.5" desktop drive.

Look for a 2.5" notebook drive.

Like WD3200BEKT or WD3200BJKT (with free fall sensor) or Seagate 7200.3 320GB.

thank you everyone for your advices, but i get different ones pointing to different hard drives, but i will give a good look for a good price.

My max is £70 incl P+P.

Which is better out of these two?
    WD3200BEKT or WD3200BJKT

I found a wd3200bekt for £70 incl PP, which site is better to buy from? Overclockers or lambda tek? difference is £1.

The difference between BEKT and BJKT is the with free fall sensor on the latter.

It means when a fall or sudden movement is registered the heads will be parked to prevent damage to the platter.

£69.54 or something like that from the lambda tek website, so it is recommended to speak the money on this than any other 7200rmp hd out there?

I've got a scorpio black, and I think it's great. I upgraded from a 160 5400 stock drive, and there was definitely a performance increase (at least in load times, etc.).

If your after speed yeah. If your after max battery life go for Seagate 7200.3

Or wait for Seagate 7200.4 500GB which will be the fastest hd out. Expected half december.
