I am looking at 2 laptops that are almost identical except for the processor. One has a "2nd generation Intel(R) Dual Core(TM) i7-2620M (2.7GHz, 4MB L3 Cache) with Turbo Boost up to 3.4 GHz" and the other has a "AMD Quad-Core A8-3550MX Accelerated Processor (2.0/2.7GHz, 4MB L2 Cache)"

So what is better? The dual core i7 at 2.7GHz or the quad core AMD at 2.0GHz? I'm mostly concerened about gaming performance, and I don't plan on doing much (if any) overclocking. Thanks! :D

the i7 2620m is going to trounce it in games. Simply because there are few games that require more than 2 cores, and because the A8 performance aint that great compared even to the first gen icore series.
