BTW both are low voltage versions.
What do you think?
I'm looking at two Panasonic notebooks, the Y5 and Y7.

The Core 2 Duo. It is 64 bit, and has a higher clock speed, and it may also have a larger L2 cache.
If your prime requirement is battery life rather than slightly higher performance I would go for the older Core Duo chip. You won't really be able to tell the difference in performance when carrying out light tasks. -
This core 2 duo is clocked lower at 1.4Ghz while the core duo is 1.83Ghz. Which do you think will perform better? -

The Core 2 Duo should be faster or at least equal in performance. The Core 2 Duo is more efficient - it gets more done per clock cycle. I have the L7500 in my ThinkPad (1.6GHz) and it is very fast.
Which peforms better core2duo L7300 1.4Ghz or core duo L2500 1.83Ghz?
