Hey guys, I wanted to ask a question and see if you could help me. I'm looking to buy a new laptop and I need help determining if the extra performance justifies the extra cost. I suppose what I mean to ask is it worth paying more to upgrade from a 2.26Ghz Intel centrino core 2 P7550 (3MB L2) with 4GB of ram to a 2.4Ghz AMD Turion X2 Ultra ZM-87 (2MB L2) with 6GB ram?

    Here are the two computers:

    #2: http://www.buydig.com/shop/product.aspx?sku=HPDV61280US

If you were me, which of the two would you buy?

The Core 2 Duo P7550 would outperform the Turion X2 Ultra ZM-87 in speed and power savings, so I would definitely go with that. 4GB of RAM is plenty, and in fact, I have no problem multitasking even with 2GB of RAM in Vista.

I also like the P7550, the speed increase isnt that much, and the processor utilizes less power than the AMD.

For ram, 4 gb is good like Midnightsun mentioned, i also have 2 gbs, and i m happy.

Both of those notebooks seems too expensive for what you get.
