    120hz 1366x768 or 60hz 1920x1080?

This is purely for 2d operation.

1920x1080. The resolution makes more of a difference than the refresh rate.

Be sure that the rest of the system, cpu, gpu, vram, etc, can drive your 19x20 screen at 32 bit color at 60hz.

It's not just the screen resolution that matters, you need the electronics to drive the screen properly. Having a full hd screen that can only be driven at 10 fps isn't going to look very good.

Do you care about viewing angles and color gamut? I'd opt for the 1080p just on the basis that 1368x768 is a terribly small resolution..

    - You don't have to run in full 1920x1080 resolution when playing games.
    - Generally, 1920x1080 displays are much better quality than 1366x768 displays. Due to the higher contrast lessening the washed-out look, games will often look better running in non-native resolution on 1920x1080 displays than they will look running in 1366x768 resolution on 1366x768 displays.
    - Don't pick your screen solely based on games. You can't make up for having a low resolution outside of gaming, but you can always "make up for" having a high resolution during games by turning down the resolution settings.

1080p is where it's at for games.

Where do you come up with this? I would love to see some pictures.

It's true for most 1366x768 panels, but 120hz ones have to be brighter (for when using 3d glasses) and are generally better quality.

I already have a 1920x1080 panel, I am just missing 100hz or beyond refresh rates.

I would go for the 120hz 1366x768 panel... But that's just me.

Yeah... IMO, for pure gaming, resolution doesn't matter, so if the 1366x768 screen is cheaper, it can be justified. ANYTHING other than gaming? Almost always, resolution is king.

I'm just gonna say that running a game at anything other than native rez makes them look like @$$. So If it's mostly for gaming, I'd get a smaller resolution and max out the settings. I used to have a 1920x1080 and running the game on the native rez (even at lower settings) was much prettier than lower rez and higher settings

I think the higher resolution ist better for the future. The games will be more realistic with high resolution

Also run with worse performance since there are more dots to draw. Unless he has a video card to support 1080p high settings, I'd rather not. Especially if it's on a 17" or less since you won't really notice the extra quality a higher pixel density gives you
