Ok, sorry I am new here, if this question has been covered. How do I find out which sound card I have? I am having problems with playing cds and the quality of the sound. If I play mp3s everything sound fine, but when I play a cd burned or bought the sound is very choppy. So, if anyone has any advice that would be great. Thanks.

What computer do you have? Sandra SiSoft would tell you "sound card". I don't think you have a hardware soundcard per se. I also think your problem likely has to do with your CD player not your "sound card".

Edit: Control Panel, Sound and Audio Devices.

ok when I go into that it says Sigma Tel Audio, anyone know anything about that? So, is there a way to tell if it is the "sound card" or the cd player. Oh and I have a Dell Inspiron e1705.

I have Sigma Tel Audio I mean if you only have problems with burned CD's then it is your CD player. Did you burn them on your CD or did someone else on theirs? Are they mp3's, some CD players are temperamental with certain brands of CD-R. What program are you using to play try different players. I like WinAmp (free) MMJ (has free version).
