Which voltage is better? (110 vs 230)?

wher i live i get two voltages from the power outlets, some sockets are 110 and others are 230. Now is there a difference in the two regarding the laptop power supply/charger? is one better than the other? the laptop charger is stated to be able to have input voltages ranging from 110-250volts

well, it depends on what u want to do with it. i would test it with the lower voltage first but u might want to check the voltage requirements of ur laptop.

In your situation, I think I would invest in a good UPS/Surge Suppresor. Power in an area like that may be erratic and the battery supply in a UPS will smooth it out and protect your system.

Then, use a volt meter to see which gives the most stable voltages. At least with a laptop, the most damage you are likely to suffer is to the power brick, a lot cheaper than what could happen to a desktop.

    JMNSHO &, of course, YMMV

Just plug it in anywhere, it'll be fine. There's no advantage to one voltage over the other.

the original power that the power company supplies is 110v, BUT i dunno how but electricians make some sockets in peoples home 230 cuz a lot of home appliances sold here, like Air Conditioners, Freezers etc run on 230volts...the voltage is stable in all sockets, i checked.

The 230V sockets are probably for high current draw devices, Italy has something similar with two different types of sockets for different applications. Your laptop doesn't need that much current but as long as it is 50 or 60 Hz cycle it should still work.

yah it works fine, i was just wondering cuz u know the laptop charger/power supply/adapter says that input 50-60 Hz, 100-250volts

The only benefit is that your laptop will draw less current from the wall at the higher voltage (230V).
