This isn't entirely surprising i suppose because my old laptop did this too. I suspect its coming from where the AC jack is. Basically its just a high pitched hum that will vary in pitch. When i unplug the power and leave it on battery then replug it goes away for about 15 seconds and then comes back. Now is it possible to reduce the sound or something?

Is it coming from the AC adapter brick itself, the laptop, or through the speakers?

If it's the AC adapter itself it's normal and is called transistor whine/squeal.

If it's the laptop itself it could be from the video card or the RAM most likely. Also somewhat normal.

If it's the speakers, it could be a grounding problem, a bad audio chip, a bad driver or a power design flaw.

I can hear it coming from basically when i put my ear near the keyboard, however sometimes it gets so loud that I can hear it while just sitting away. My old laptop did that as well and it wasn't really a troubling issue, just annoying. As I said though when I unplug my laptop it goes on battery but the noise still continues, then when I replug it stops for a few seconds and comes back. I think it might have to do when it switches back power plans or something.
Its not from the brick. Its from the laptop.

hetrodyne whine from the internal dc/dc power components.

nothing to do about it, nothing to worry about.
