Guys, please provide your valuable inputs.

    1. What "Slot Load 8X DVD+/-RW Drive with DVD+R double layer write capability" can do that "Internal 8X DVD+/-RW Combination Drive with dual layer write capabilities" cannnot do?

    2. P8700 (2.53GHz/ 1066 FSB/ 3MB Cache) vs. i5-540M (2.53GHz, 4 Thread, turbo boost up to 3.06GHz, 3M cache). Who beats whom if we don't consider the price factor?

    3. Dell 1520 Wireless-N Card vs. Intel(R) WiFi Link 5100 (802.11a/g/n) Half Mini-card.

    i5 wins.

The 5100 card is really bad. Try to upgrade to a 5300 (only $30 or so, I can give you a link).

    Thanks moral hazard! :)

    Please answer Question#1 also.

One more question:- Suppose I buy Dell Studio 15 (newly launched in India) that comes with Dell 1520 Wireless-N Card; can I replace N-card with Intel 5300 (at home)? If yes, what would be the cost?

If the Dell Wireless card is a Mini PCI-E, which I would think it is, then I'd say you can upgrade to the 5300.

The 5300 is generally about $30 - $50 US dollars, at most stores.

One is slot loading, the other would be tray. That is all I can hazard a guess at given the info provided.

What graphics card are u getting in the studio 15? That is also important as they are not uprgadeable later on... however , i would get the laptop with core i5 and later on get the 5300 card as they said...
