I have a samsung 470 series and when I first got it speed was 250 did test a week later it was down to 180. Did performance optimazation it's back up to 250 two weeks later it's back down to 186.

Can somebody explain to me why this happens I don't save alot of files to the hard hardly any. I have a 2nd hdd in place of my dvd so everything goes there (like even log files) I made it so it barly writes to the ssd.

    What 470 SSD 64,128,256 ?
What mode in BIOS are you running AHCI or IDE mode ? AHCI is best.
What Firmware are you using ? Latest is AXM09B1Q
What Powerplan are you using ? Power Saver, Balanced,High Performance
High Performance-is fastest for these SSD's
Did you do Samsung Magician ver 2.0 O/S Optimization ?
    What Notebook you using ?
What Chipset does your notebook have ?
Mine is consistent all the time in Read/Write ~250/170----64Gb size.

    To check Trim do this:

Open the command prompt in accessories folder (windows 7)
Right click and select run as adminstrator-select 'yes'
    type at

Command prompt > fsutil behavior query disabledeletenotify

then press Enter key on keyboard,,result is displayed.

DisableDeleteNotify = 1 (Windows TRIM commands are disabled)
DisableDeleteNotify = 0 (Windows TRIM commands are enabled)

    mine is enabled.

    Cheers
