The Dell has a 60wh battery, the toshiba has a 66wh, it shouldn't be a big difference, right? The dell seems to pull in 4.5 hours max whereas the Toshiba can get 6 hours easy.
Whats the deal? What can I do to get better battery life on my Dell?

And what is the actual power consumption of both laptops. I'm gonna go with random numbers here but if the Toshiba consumes 10W and the Dell consumes 15W, the Toshiba will have longer battery life even with the exact same battery. The size of the battery isn't everything.

They're pretty the same spec, but the Dell has a 2540m and the Toshiba has a 2410m.
I had a toshiba eco utility that showed power consumption but it doesn't work on the dell, what can I use to track power consumption? -
You could use a kill-a-watt meter, sure you won't get the actual consumption of the notebook, but you'll have at least an idea of how they differ.

Batterybar might show something, could be worth trying.
Why does the Toshiba r835 get so much more battery life than the Dell e6320?
