I was just wondering, if i have a 15.4" laptop and they have the option to upgrade the resolution from WXSGA [1680x1050] to a WUXGA [1920x1200]..is it worth it??

Ive read in places that if you increase the resolution, then youll need to increase the processor power as well. So, I was thinking, do i need to increase the processor as a product of increasing the resolution [if so, how much approx.], or do I even need to upgrade the processor at all?

    Thanks for the advice!

It's not so much the CPU as the GPU. The graphics card is what drives the display in the first place--more pixels means more graphics work. The CPU just handles more general tasks.

I'd say that the loss of system performance due to having a higher resolution display is negligible these days, unless you're gaming (in which case resolution can be the difference between playable frame rates and crap; you can always turn down the resolution, though). In day to day tasks with a modern GPU (hell, even a GPU several years old now), you will feel absolutely no performance difference between 1680 x 1050 and 1920 x 1200.
