As has been well documented, I have terrible wifi connectivity with my Samsung Series 7 Chronos - with the Broadcom adapter.

I'm looking for an inexpensive alternative to fix this.

    1. Should I just buy the Intel 6230 chip or is there anything better that will work too? What type of screwdriver do I need to get the thing open?

    2. Should I just buy a USB adapter? Any suggestions as to which is the best bang for your buck? Again - with the interest of increasing range and speed.

    Thank you all so much!

    1. Should be all right to get 6230.. I'm not sure if Samsung blacklist wifi cards like Lenovo but if they don't, should be ok.. You need a phillips head screwdriver.. 6.5mm approx...
    2. Nahhh...

I don't think Samsung whitelists WLAN cards like HP, Lenovo. It should be able to take any mini pci-E WLAN card. I would avoid USB wireless adapters, they are much more money for the same wireless performance IMO.
