Each and every time I run dskchk, it finds new bad sectors and repairs them.

When I run DBAN, it goes for about 12 hours. During that period there were over 100 verify errors. It completes with the following message: "DBAN finished with non-fatal errors. Check the log for more information. *fail ATA Disk SAMSUNG (w/ model #)."

What does this mean exactly, did DBAN work correctly?

Getting bad sectors frequently like you're describing is indicative of a dying HDD. I suggest you backup al important data now and start considering a replacement,

There is no way of fixing a drive bad sectors. Just like tijo said, when you start getting bad sectors, its time for you to change your HDD as it can fail anytime soon.
